Welcome to the blog for Maple Ridge Care Centre. We will be discussing, through an open forum, many issues that pertain to senior health care. Maple Ridge specializes in caring for persons with pulmonary diseases, but also provides care in many other areas. Some of the topics we will focus on will be ventilator weening programs, IV therapy, orthopedic issues, traumatic brain injuries, memory loss, and bariatric manangement. Another focus will be on caregivers. As in any senior community, the caregivers play an important role in the daily care and, if possible, recovery of the resident/patient.

One topic in particular is transitioning. Whether they are a family member or a professional, Maple Ridge aids in the training of caregivers in the area of transitioning from rehab back to home. Though Maple Ridge Care Centre specializes in long-term care, it is the goal to provide the care necessary to allow those patients who are able, to return home. By training their caregivers, the patients will continue to receive the proper care needed to recover from their inury/illness. We are looking forward to all comments, experiences and suggestions, be they personal or professional.
